Dr Ahalya Kumar graduated in 2016 and has since developed a genuine passion for all aspects of dentistry, with particular interests in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, root canal treatment, and crown and bridge procedures.
Known for her warm, gentle and reassuring approach, Ahalya takes great pride in helping patients feel comfortable and confident in the dental chair. She believes great dentistry is about more than simply treating teeth — it is about listening, building trust and helping every patient feel genuinely cared for.
A true Auckland girl, Ahalya grew up in Mt Eden and has spent the past five years caring for patients at Mt Eden Village, where she has had the privilege of building strong and lasting relationships with her patients and their families. She loves getting to know people beyond their appointments and believes the best part of dentistry is becoming someone her patients know and trust. She is excited to bring that same personal approach to the Devonport community through Acme Dental.
Acme Dental was founded with the vision of creating a modern, welcoming practice where patients feel known, comfortable and genuinely cared for. Ahalya looks forward to caring for local families and building the same long-term relationships that have made dentistry so rewarding for her.
Outside of dentistry, Ahalya loves travelling and discovering new places around the world, always planning her next adventure around great food and even better coffee.
